5 Reasons You Should Give Away Content for Free

Many blogging newbies assume that everyone in this business makes a huge sum of money each and every year. Don’t get me wrong. There are bloggers out there who easily pull 6 figures (some even pull 7 figures) from their efforts. But they all started somewhere. It is always amazing to me to see people who have just gotten started in the blogging world but are constantly complaining about how they should not be giving their content for free. Some offer their content for free for a while and then start focusing on paid content exclusively. This approach may work for some but it’s not the right way to build a business.

People do not want to pay for anything these days. But they will if your content is good enough. The trouble is, you can’t get the word out about your content without giving your content for free, especially when you are just getting started. Your free content can go viral and get you a lot of publicity and attention. Greedy publishers usually shoot themselves in the foot by closing their doors, losing a significant portion of their audience in the process.

Complaining about not making enough money from blogging is not going to solve anything. Charging for all your content is definitely not the answer. Here are just 5 reasons why you should give your content for free:

  • Gauge the level of interest in your product: giving away your content for free is the best way to find out whether there is demand for your product. This does not just apply to bloggers. Video and radio programs can use this approach as well. Many podcasters that I know started by giving away their product for free. They continue doing so. That way, their doors are always open to new listeners. If people are not willing to read or consume your free content, how can you expect them to pay for your future works?
  • Gauge your influence: let’s say you have a free podcast program with thousands of listeners. Are those folks ready to take the actions that you need them to? By keeping your doors open to as many people as possible, you can do all kinds of tests and see whether you are building any level of loyalty and influence with your audience.
  • Promote yourself and your business: you may lose your business or your job, but no one can take away the content that you have created and gotten in front of as many people as possible. Your free content can be a great promotional tool for you and your business. Who knows. Your work may open unexpected doors of opportunity for you.
  • Build a Community: there is no “me” in the community. We all want to make as much money as possible from our efforts. But if you are just in it for the money, you are in the wrong business. For me, blogging is all about my passions and having a chance to share my experiences with others and learn from them. Giving away your work for free can help you build a larger community and show your visitors you are serious about your niche and value their loyalty.
  • Free content does not mean free business model: let’s say you have a free blog. That does not mean that should be your only business. Freemium business models can work for most blogs. You can also use your free blog to promote your paid (but separate) business. Nothing is stopping you.

It is always disappointing to see people complain and moan about the time they spend creating free articles and podcasts for their audience. Nobody likes to hear excuses. If you are not willing to offer your content for free, there is someone else who will. Will people stick around when someone is just obsessed about him/herself and money?

How To Handle Blog Outages – 5 Ways

In a perfect world, bloggers would get to focus all their time on their blogs without having to worry about hack attacks and hosting service outages. Unfortunately, that only happens in the dream world. In reality, lots of things can go wrong for bloggers on a daily basis. If your blog is having issues (major or minor), the last thing you want to do is pretend they didn’t happen. Your loyal visitors would not appreciate such an approach. There is a right way and wrong way to tackle this. Here are 5 ways you can make sure you go with the right approach addressing your blog’s issues:

Provide updates: if your website is down for hours, don’t just sit around and pray to God. There are better ways to use your time. You should at least use your other outposts to provide an update on your site’s situation to your loyal readers. They will understand it if you are honest with them. Nobody likes to experience any downtime but these things happen. Don’t panic. Just act professionally and respect your visitors’ loyalty.
Don’t ignore complaints: in a perfect world, people would just understand that no website can stay up forever. Even large companies experience some downtime from time to time (that includes Amazon too). When someone complains about your website on Twitter or other sites, don’t get defensive. Address the situation at hand without attacking others or responding to their attacks.
Use other means to get your content out: so your blog may be down. You still have Facebook, your newsletter, Tumblr, and other channels to communicate with your visitors. Your world should not need to stop even if your site is down for a couple of days (not that it would be ideal).
Explain your story: once you are done with your site’s issues, take time to explain to your visitors what has happened. You may think they won’t care, but a lot of them do. At least, they’ll know that you are serious about your business and will do everything you can to avoid those issues from surfacing in the future.
Give away stuff: nothing can make your visitors forget about your blog outage than a nice gift. You can pull this off with a giveaway. Another way to do this is by offering your visitors, let’s say, a free week of your premium service.
No website is perfect. Every blogger will have to deal with major business headaches from time to time. The last thing you want to do as a blogger is try to hide your blog’s problems or ignore your loyal visitors. That’s just not a smart approach.

6 Basic Link Building Tips for Bloggers

Every blog needs a few links to climb the rankings in the search engine results pages (SERPs). Optimizing your internal link structure and adding the right keywords to your website is only one part of the story. Getting links from authority websites does make a big difference. It could take a bit of time to complete such projects. You should not spend all your time trying to get links only from top dogs. There are a few basic ways to increase your link count and get an edge over some of your competitors. Here are 6 easy ways to build links for your website:

article marketing: article marketing websites such as Ezine Articles do allow you to include a link back to your blog from your articles. In order to succeed in these types of websites, you want to make sure your article is thorough and of high quality. A hybrid article marketing / social networking / outpost creation approach has worked the best for our network. Keep in mind that Google’s Panda update has devastated many article and content farms. So stay away from duplicate content and focus on improving the quality of your content.
social bookmarking: there are plenty of social bookmarking sites that offer you Yes Follow links. Even those that do not offer you that type of link can still help your articles get more attention. As long as you have worked to make your website as social media friendly as possible, social bookmarking sites can only help your blog grow.
social networking: does not need any introduction. Blogs can get a lot of traffic from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and even Quora with the right strategy. Bloggers should not only be active on those sites, they should go out of their way to provide value to others.
online directories submission: online directories are not as relevant as they used to be a decade ago. But the top directories can still help your website get more love from the search engines. Submitting your website to some of these directories would not be a bad idea, especially if you are just starting.
outpost creation: writing articles on your blog should be only one part of your business plan. Just like a book author goes out of her way to reach as many people as possible through interviews, radio programs, and so on, bloggers should adopt a similar approach. Having a presence on Posterous, Tumblr, Facebook, and other similar websites can only help you get the word out about your work.
commentluv tactic: commentluv is a great community of websites that are willing to give back to those who take time to be involved in them. Commenting on these types of blogs often can get you a decent number of links. You don’t want to spam these sites though.
As you can see, link building is not rocket science. It is true that there are more advanced ways to go viral and get a ton of links from authority sites but those types of projects can take a bit of time to pull o

Blogging Gadgets I Can’t Live Without

Technology has changed the way we go about doing our business everyday. The same can be said about blogging. Everyday, there is a new gadget that comes out which helps bloggers become more productive and get more done in a less amount of time. Here are the top gadgets that I use everyday to get more done on my blogs:

Livescribe 2GB Pulse Smartpen: Pulse pen is a great little gadget that makes it easy to store notes and attach audio to them. If you take a lot of notes at conferences or meetings, you can use this pen to record your information information and store them on your computer.

Kindle: Amazon Kindle has been a life saver for me. Not only I have managed to read more books using my Kindle, it’s very easy to get the latest books right away. Amazon allows you to download books to your Kindle in less than 30 seconds, so there is no need to wait days to get your books in mail.

Netbook: I personally own an Asus Eee PC. I’ve got to say. It’s been one of the best buys I have done in years. The netbook is so portable, and it comes with plenty of storage and a mini-cam. Great for blogging.

iPhone: the iPhone is great for folks who are constantly on the go. If you are going around the world to all these conferences, you can blog right from your iPhone. And let’s not forget that the iPhone is more than just a phone.

Flip HD Camcorder: if you are a video blogger, you are going to love Flip HD. It’s an amazingly portable camcorder, and it gets the job done. Don’t expect super HD quality from this camcorder, but the quality of videos is quite decent.

There are many other gadgets that you can use to become more effective as a blogger. Your goal should be to get more things done for less. So what are your favorite blogging gadgets?

Remotely Hosted, Blogs

There are two ways to host a blog. The first way is to remotely host it-- which means your content/files literally sit on the server of the blogging platform (WordPress.com, Blogger.com, etc.)
As I mentioned above, there's always a risk involved with doing it this way because if Blogger or WordPress decide to shut your blog down (for whatever reason), you would lose all your content.
It also doesn't look as professional to have a blog address like http://yourblog.blogspot.com or http://yourblog.wordpress.com. And if you want to make money, first impressions mean a lot.
For the record, I don't endorse remotely hosted blogs. I think hosting is so cheap these days that it's worth spending a few extra dollars to own your content and have a real blog address like http://yourblog.com -- especially if you want to make money."

Setting up a Blog

To create a self-hosted blog (more on why self-hosted is better later), you need a domain name (yoursite.com) and a web host.
Even though a site like Blogger is free and makes setup a snap, you don't actually own the content or the site because it's hosted on Blogger's domain.
So if Blogger ever decides to shut down, guess what will happen to your blog?
Yup... bye, bye to all your hard work! (Trust me. I've seen this happen more than once.

How to Create a Blog - Blogger or WordPress?

"Blogs are another kind of website. The content is usually organized by date and category with the most recent post/content displaying first.
If you look at this site, the content is organized by content and not by date or category. This is a static website.
So it's important to think about how you want your content to be organized by default. Having your visitors view/sort your content by date and category may not be the optimal solution for every kind of site because the content will get buried as your site gets older."

Create a Free Blog With WordPress

Create a Free Blog With WordPress: "Creating a blog is a fast way to publish content online. It is much like a website except a blog is run by a series of scripts that generally publish and organize the content by date and categories.

In fact, many people think of blogs as online journals.

Blogs are typically easier to setup than websites because most blog platforms come with ready-to-use templates and there’s no software or FTP needed to publish your content to the Web."

zFacts on Controversial Topics

zFacts on Controversial Topics: "Nuclear: What's the Risk?
March 17, 2011. The nuclear debate is heating up again. And once again, it's missing the point. Some say the technology is too risky, and some say, 'Not any more.' It's true the Dai-Ichi plants have been obsolete for 40 years and are no indication of today's technology. But the point is not technology.
The Fukushima disaster was not caused by 40 year old nukes it was caused by very recent decisions by very greedy corporations. I will not rant against corporations. We need them. But just like nuclear power, dynamite, or the army, we need to learn to limit them. TEPCO, just like our own utilities, oil companies, and Wall St. banks, was far better at controlling the Japanese government than the government was at limiting TEPCO.
And here in America, we are headed the wrong direction. Corporations just got the right to spend any amount of money in secret to swing elections. Nukes don't kill people, corporations kill people. Ironically, those who believe most in 'law and order' for people fight against regulations for corporations. It's way past time to turn around, but it looks like it's too late."

Gadgets

Gadgets: "Forgive me father, though I'm not sure I've sinned. For today I took the output of Sonic Foundry's Acid 2.0 on my PC, combined it with sounds from my Yamaha QY1 and recorded my updated rendition of CCR's 'Proud Mary' into my Tascam Portastudio. I proceeded to connect this back to my PC, rip it into an MP3 track using MusicMatch 4.0 and download it into my Diamond Rio 500. Then, Rio blazing away through my Sony noisecancelling headphones with tunes of my own creation (with a little help from Fogarty), I snuggled under the down comforter of my bed and curled up to read Scott Turow's latest lawyer tale on my Rocket eBook. My question, all-knowing one, is this: do I need an electric blanket? And is there a place I get AA batteries at wholesale?"

Do Gadgets Really Make Our Lives More Complicated? - Techland - TIME.com: "A new study published by Ad Age takes a look at the various ways new technologies—in particular, e-readers and tablets—influence the lives of the affluent, concluding that at the end of the day, additive technologies make life more complicated than not.

Assuming that 'affluent' means households earning annual median incomes of $100,000 or more, the study showed some unsurprising findings: 98% of them are online for at least 25 hours a week; two-thirds own a TV recorder, with 58% of them fast-forwarding through commercials; and 52% of them own smartphones or equivalent devices, not accounting for the much broader spectrum of overall cell phone owners (smartphones and feature phones, combined)."

10 Ways to Wake Up Beautiful - Fashion + Beauty on Shine

10 Ways to Wake Up Beautiful - Fashion + Beauty on Shine: ". Get an Early Start
Make a habit of washing your face a few hours before bed. If you wait until you're tired, you're more likely to blow it off -- allowing 'toxins and dirt to stay on there all night,' says dermatologist Laurie Polis of N.Y.C. Another consequence? You miss the best time to treat your skin. 'At night there's more blood flow to the skin's surface, and there's nothing else on your face to interfere with absorption,' Polis says."

2. Sleep on Your Back
Note to Audrey Hepburn fans: Lying on your stomach is bad for "beauty sleep." The average head weighs 7 to 8 pounds -- a lot of pressure to be putting on your face every night. In fact, many dermatologists say they can tell what side of the face people sleep on by the number of wrinkles there.

3. Get a Lift
Sleep with your head elevated on two pillows, or put the headrest area of your bed on 2- to 4-inch pieces of wood. Gravity helps lymph and blood flow so fluid won't accumulate, Polis says.

4. Save Money, Not Wrinkles

At night you don't need to worry about eye treatments smearing your makeup, so slather on the richest formula you can. Polis swears by Aquaphor: "It conditions lashes and hydrates the delicate eye skin really well."

Try: Aquaphor Healing ointment, $9; drugstore.com.

5. Sneak a Glow
Mix a drop of self-tanner into your night cream or use a cream that contains a bit of tan-producing DHA.

Try: Clarins Radiance-Plus self-tanning cream, $52; clarinsusa.com.

6. Avoid Carb Face
To wake with defined cheekbones, eat a high-protein, low-sugar dinner (try salmon and asparagus, a natural diuretic). Skip the rice, pasta and potatoes. "When our diet's high in glycemic carbohydrates, our features take on a soft, doughy appearance," says Connecticut dermatologist Nicholas Perricone.

7. Wrap It Up
To minimize A.M. frizz, sleep on a satin pillowcase or put your hair in a silk scarf. "Those fabrics are much softer than cotton, so there's less friction," says Harry Josh, a John Frieda stylist.

8. Find Your Inner Ballerina
Pile hair into a twist on the top of your head (use a scrunchie to avoid crimping). "In the morning you'll have major volume and beautiful waves," Josh says.

9. Turn on the Hair Conditioning
Sleep with a moisturizing treatment in damp hair overnight. We like Philip B. Katira Hair Masque, but any rich conditioner will do. Rinse in the morning.

Try: Philip B. Katira Hair Masque, $40; philipb.com.

10. Pop a Rooster Pill
Trust us, we were skeptical. But after swallowing two Wake Up on Time pills at 11 P.M., we found it much easier to get out of bed seven hours later. Created by a sleep-deprived single mother, the pills contain an energizing blend of thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamins B6 and B12 and guarana-seed extract. It's formulated with a coating that releases ingredients into your bloodstream toward the end of your last sleep cycle, so you wake up feeling clear-headed, not fuzzy.

As he walked into the garage, a piece of cloth that clung to an attic door caught his eye. He opened the hatch and climbed up the ladder, then pulled out a metal box that looked like a World War II ammunition case."

Costa Rica Travel Guide, Tips & Hotel Reviews

Costa Rica Travel Guide, Tips & Hotel Reviews: "Costa Rica's Volcanoes & Wildlife Tours

Start your tour of Costa Rica with between 5 to 7 days exploring the mainland. Many tour operators offer an excellent three or four night package from the capital, San Jose, that visit both Arenal volcano and Monteverde cloudforest. Arenal is a constantly erupting volcano a few hours from San Jose - if ever you wanted to witness a volcanic eruption, this is one place where you're almost guaranteed to see one (unless the weather prevents it). Nearby Monteverde Cloudforest provides easy access to rainforest that is excellent for wildlife viewing, nature trails, birdwatching, jungle canopy zip lines and has a range of fine jungle lodges.

Those particularly keen on adventure tours and wildlife might consider also visiting Tortuguero National Park. Tortugero, on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast, combines beaches with wildife viewing perfectly. Tortugera is well known as a turtle nesting site, but there is a host of other wildlife viewing opportunities in addition. Corcovado National Park is an alternative area excellent for wildlife vacations in Costa Rica."

The TSA Blog: Secretary Napolitano Visits the Transportation Security Operations Center

The TSA Blog: Secretary Napolitano Visits the Transportation Security Operations Center: "Transportation Security Operations Center (TSOC) also known as the Freedom Center.

The Freedom Center can be seen in the interview, and I’m guessing some of you might want to know a little more about it. I know it piques my interest when I see an operations center full of computers and giant displays. It makes me want to push buttons and stuff. Anyway, it’s our main information center, where analysts monitor the entire transportation network and connect TSA with the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Aviation Administration, FBI, and other law enforcement and security agencies. When an incident happens such as a plane being diverted, a bomb threat, airspace violation, etc, the TSOC is fully involved in these types of scenarios. You can read more about the TSOC here."

The TSA Blog

The TSA Blog: "We wish we lived in a world where you could just walk on a plane with no security screening, but that just isn't the case unfortunately. Aviation security agencies worldwide have been using pat-downs long before TSA was created to prevent dangerous items from getting onto airplanes. The pat-down is a highly effective tool to resolve certain alarms and keep these dangerous items off of planes that could cause catastrophic damage. It's important to note that if a passenger (or bag) alarms during screening, our officers must resolve the alarm before allowing the passenger and their baggage on the airplane."

Professor Sabena's Blog

Professor Sabena's Blog: "In just a short while Apple has re-defined the essence of the SmartPhone device with the iPhone. Now just 4 years old, the iPhone has changed the way we interact with our mobile world. For this (and despite my rantings against Apple) they deserve our admiration. But perhaps the most interesting phenomenon is the change in the way we use technology in general. When Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded Microsoft they had grand visions about a Computer on every desk and one in every home. I don’t think they quite envisage that the consumers would develop a need for so many. Nor for how many of these we consume on an annual basis."

Costa Rica Vacation - Costa Rica Travel - Free Information

Costa Rica Vacation - Costa Rica Travel - Free Information: "you are fortunate enough to land in San Jose Costa Rica during daylight hours you will see a large Central Valley surrounded by sleepy volcanoes, like silent watchmen waiting to awaken at the slightest provocation. We call this 'landing in a postcard'. It whets the appetite for the Costa Rica vacation to come.

Costa Rica is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places on earth to vacation in. Glide through a rainforest canopy in a floating gondola, go horseback riding on the beach, soak yourself in waters heated by an active volcano, hike through clouds in a mountaintop cloud forest, see the turquoise blue water-filled crater of a sleepy (but active) volcano, see pairs of Scarlet Macaws flying over crocodile infested rivers, watch rare sea turtles struggle to lay their eggs in protected places. All this and more await you in one of the world's last safe havens for wildlife.

Grand slam gives Orioles 9-3 victory over Rays | TBO.com: "ST. PETERSBURG --
J.J Hardy hit a grand slam, Nick Markakis added a solo shot and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Tampa Bay Rays 9-3 on Sunday.

The Orioles loaded the bases in the sixth with no outs as Rays reliever Rob Delaney walked all three batters — one intentionally — he faced. Hardy then put Baltimore up 8-2 when he hit his third career grand slam on a 2-0 pitch from Cesar Ramos. It was Hardy's first grand slam since May 12, 2007, while with Milwaukee against the New York Mets."

Lightning strike blamed for Brandon fire that drives 12 families from apartments - St. Petersburg Times: "BRANDON — Early Sunday morning, Josh Ettling counted the seconds between lightning and thunder. One Mississippi, two Mississippi — he couldn't even get through that without being cut off by a boom.

Ettling, 23, wanted to go back to bed. He could put his chocolate Labrador, Nico, under the covers to hide the frightened dog's eyes so they both could sleep through the storm.

But a light switch zapped his fingers when he flipped it. Minutes later, he smelled smoke. Outside the second-floor bedroom blinds, all he saw was orange.

'My apartment's on fire,' he told a 911 dispatcher. Ettling says he was put on hold, then advised: Get out."

3 teens charged in San Diego Craigslist killing - Yahoo! News: "SAN DIEGO – An 18-year-old college student died from a bullet to his chest as he chased three teens who robbed him and his girlfriend when he was buying a computer advertised on Craigslist for $600, a prosecutor said Friday.
Details of the killing emerged at an arraignment for three 17-year-old males who were charged as adults with murder, robbery and shooting at an occupied vehicle.
Superior Court Judge Joseph Brannigan entered not guilty pleas on their behalf and set bail at $5 million each — $3 million higher than the amount sought by prosecutors.
Prosecutors have said Garrett Berki died late Wednesday after he and his girlfriend met suspects Rashon Abernathy, Seandell Jones and Shaquille Jordan in San Diego to buy an Apple MacBook Pro. One teen pulled a gun and robbed the couple of cash and their cell phones, authorities said."

Lawyer: IMF chief denies NYC sex-assault charges - Yahoo! News: "NEW YORK – Dominique Strauss-Kahn's reputation with women earned him the nickname 'the great seducer,' and not even an affair with a subordinate could knock the International Monetary Fund leader off a political path pointed in the direction of the French presidency. All that changed with charges that he sexually assaulted a maid in his hotel room, a case that generated shock and revulsion, especially in his home country.
Unless the charges are quickly dropped, they could destroy his chances in a presidential race that is just starting to heat up. The IMF, which plays a key role in efforts to control the European debt crisis, named an acting leader and said it remains 'fully functioning and operational' despite Saturday's arrest."

The Google Tablet Is Coming, Courtesy of Verizon - Gizmodo

The Google Tablet Is Coming, Courtesy of Verizon - Gizmodo: "Google's ready to prove its tablet mettle, and Verizon wants an answer to AT&T's iPad. It's Shakespearean, almost, kind of! Within months, AT&T and Verizon will fall deeply in love, and commit suicide due to an easily avoidable misunderstanding. No, wait, wrong play. I wanted the one where EVERYONE FIGHTS EVERYONE, AND IT IS AWESOME. This could mean:

• An Android tablet launched with the backing of a major carrier, and presumably a high-profile hardware manufacturer (Motorola?)
• Hardware within six months
• An interesting data pricing strategy from Verizon, which will need to compete with AT&T novel (but flawed) a la carte system
• An early start against other tablets, specifically from the newly invigorated Palm
• WAR"

ACN Review: Is ACN a Scam Or A Good Telecommunications Business Opportunity ?

ACN Review: Is ACN a Scam Or A Good Telecommunications Business Opportunity ?: "Is ACN a Scam -A fraudulent Business Sceme ?
To fully address this we need to consider two key points. Firstly is ACN a legitimate Company and secondly is the ACN opportunity a legitimate business ? Do lets take a look at the company.

ACN is a telecommunications business. ACN stands for American Communications Network. The company was founded in 1993 by Greg Provenzno, Robert Stevanovski and Mike and Tony Cupisz. The aim of ACN is to provide superior long distance and local phone services, with unsurpassed customer service and they seem to be achieving their goal.

Since ACN launched the company has moved from strength to strength as a telecommunications service provider and currently operates in 19 countries including the USA,Canada,Uk, Australia and New Zealand. They have a global staff of over 1000 employees and have annual revenues exceeding $500 million.

In the companies 15 years of operation ACN has stamped itself as a telecommunications business that is here to stay and currently boasts a range of services including long distance and local phone services, wireless services, digital video phones, internet and satellite TV all at competitive prices."

 ACN Scam

ACN Scam: "ACN is a privately held corporation and they claim to be the world's largest direct selling telecommunications company. It was founded in 1992 by Tony Cupisz, Mike Cupisz, Greg Provenzano and Robert Stevanovski.

ACN is short for American Communications Network Incorporated.

They state that they operate in 19 countries and have over 1,000 employees and have over $500m revenue annually.

ACN started out as a long distance phone service reseller for LCI Communications, and then later began offering other services such as wireless phone service, satellite TV services and internet service, and digital and video phones.

It is a network marketing company [MLM] and like most MLM companies, teaches their distributors to leverage their 'warm market', friends and family."

ACN Scam – Are they Closing Down? – Network Marketing Blog -

ACN Scam – Are they Closing Down? – Network Marketing Blog -: "ACN Scam network marketing review is a 3rd party analysis of the company products, services and business plan. So is ACN a Scam or a good business opportunity? One is to wonder, but after reading this short review you will be able to draw your own conclusions and to see if ACN is for you or not

The ACN Company

ACN, formerly known as American Communication Network, was founded in 1993 by Greg Provenzano, Robert Stevanovski, Mike Cupisz, and tony Cupisz. Based in North Carolina, the business claims on it’s website to be the biggest direct selling telecommunications business in the world. They provide local and long distance calling, internet, wireless, home security any satellite Television. They also provide digital telephone service along with a video phone."

ACN Scam Alert??

ACN Scam Alert??: "From up front ACN seem like a respectable telecommunications company. Their services include long distance calls, digital phone services, local phone calls and the internet. Their products though a bit behind latest technology seem fairly of acceptable standard but when you look further; you can't help but ask questions.

Do a search on the internet and you will find a lot of people asking the same questions about the ACN scam. But is the ACN marketing company truly a scam? Despite great achievements their reputation has been tarnished. Read the following.

One thing that stand in disfavor of their credibility is that their company structure is framed based on the multi level marketing model or the pyramid structure. That in itself raises a lot of questions. Experienced network marketers will tell you that it is difficult if not totally impossible to find a pyramid program that is not scam."

The ACN Scam | Understand This!

The ACN Scam | Understand This!: "The Basics of the ACN Scam
The scam works by convincing people that they have are going to make a lot of money in the telecom industry by selling a few video phones, satellite TV subscriptions, cell phones, landlines, etc and encouraging a few of their friends to do the same. It’s a simple concept and in theory is quite easy. Anyone can sell 3 services and we would argue that anyone could also find a friend to do the same. The issue, in our opinion, comes when you actually try to do it. There is very limited data on the success rates of ACN Independent Representatives. Most people are told from the start that less than one in 100 are successful in the business. Additionally, a recent study (see references) has shown that approximately 0.5% (less than 1 in 200) even make their initial $500 investment back. The problem: they are so good at convincing you, that everyone believes they will be the 1 out of 200 who actually makes money! Why?"

ACN IRIS 3000 Videophone & The State of the Videophone

ACN IRIS 3000 Videophone & The State of the Videophone: "I've come across the new ACN IRIS 3000 videophone a few times recently and thought I'd write about them. I'm a big fan of videophones even if there doesn't seem to be any true adoption of industry standards that lets one videophone talk/video to another. Not to mention I reported first how Vonage's OEM'ed videophone, VisiFone, from Viseon hit the scrap heap due to Viseon's implosion. I was hoping to see Vonage's VisiFone interoperate with Packet8's Videophone, which I reviewed back in 2004. Back then Packet8 was the last broadband videophone service provider left standing, but it now appears that ACN has recently jumped onboard the videophone wagon. I hope they do well. Although videophone deployment has been slow to take off, I think offering subsidized, low-cost, or even free videophones to VoIP customers is one way of differentiating yourself from your competitors, especially if you are a single play provider like Vonage or Packet8 going up against Comcast, Time Warner, AT&T, etc. that offer Triple Play packages."

The MLM Blog Network: "Mike Dillard's Better Networker Review

Better Networker MLM Social Media Portal Review

The Better Networker Website is an MLM Social Media Portal that appears to have been registered in October 2007. This Website is owned by Magnetic Sponsoring, LLC which is one of Mike Dillard’s companies.. This website is an interactive, forum based website which centers itself on offering free advice regarding how to succeed in Network Marketing and also covers Home Business Success, Internet Marketing and Web 2.0 topics as well. As of the time of this writing this website was getting about 54,000 unique visitors per month, which definitely makes it a high traffic portal site.

The Better Networker Website starts off with a Free Articles section. I must honestly say that the topics covered are a lot Broader than just Network Marketing. Just in the first page alone I saw a post on Mastering Automated Follow-ups. Another post mentioned that it wasn’t smart to work for someone else. Then the next one covered 5 tips for getting Website Traffic Fast using 5 quick tips. Another post covered saving money on standard office supplies. So you can see there are a broad range of topics in the article section."
